Golf can be a great activity that provides beneficial, exercise especially if you walk the course instead of taking a cart.
That’s why on Saturday, June 30, 2007, Sally teed up for her very first golf lesson during the championship weekend of the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open* (USWO) in Southern Pines, N.C. Golf legend Peggy Kirk Bell and leading golf instructor Dana Rader were on hand to help Sally learn about the game of golf.
Before her lesson, Sally mingled with spectators and watched the professional golfers battle for the championship. Many championship spectators also received free bone mineral density (BMD) heel scans and were given a copy of the “Start Right, Stay Strong: Bone-Healthy Golf Guide,” which contains tips on improving your golf game and advice on how to keep your bones healthy and strong.
Later, Sally gave a talk at the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open* Gala where she provided motivational insights into her career, highlighting women at the top of their game and her personal support for osteoporosis awareness.
