Here are real women's stories that inspire me to not let osteoporosis slow me
down. I will feature a new Bone Diva who I hope will encourage you
to make the promise for better bone health, like we did.

However, when an x-ray revealed an unhealed fracture in her back, Linda's doctor decided it was time for a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test. The test proved what the doctor feared, and Linda was then diagnosed with severe osteoporosis.
"After talking with my doctor, I started taking my prescription medication right away and became more diligent about exercising," says Linda. It was important for Linda to start taking care of her condition immediately. She started going to the gym more, and paying particular attention to weight-bearing exercises.
After one year of taking her prescription medication, exercising on a daily basis, and eating healthier, Linda's recent BMD test showed an improvement. "At first, my doctor didn't believe the results. He thought he had read the results wrong—but it was true!" added Linda.
Pleased with the results, Linda continues to keep up her routine and is conscious about maintaining her course towards healthier bones. She stays busy, working as a nanny (once a week) and as a receptionist (twice a week). The rest of the week Linda finds herself spending time with her grandchildren who live close by.
