Sally's Bone Diva January 2008
Here are real women's stories that inspire me to not let osteoporosis slow me down. Each month, I will feature a new Bone Diva who I hope will encourage you to make the promise for better bone health, like we did.

In 2007, Bone Divas from all across the country inspired us to take fun, easy steps toward bone health. Take a look at some of last year's highlights to find the encouragement you need to be a Bone Diva in 2008.
Bone Divas - Sue Robinson-Abramowitz and Claudia Van DykeMarch 2007 Bone Diva:
Sue Robinson-Abramowitz

"Instead of thinking you're fragile, you should work with your doctor to develop an exercise routine that helps you build strength and stay healthy." - Sue Robinson-Abramowitz, Indio, CA

Sue works out in her home with one-pound weights and an exercise video. And after years of country dancing, Sue and her husband enrolled in a ballroom dancing class

April 2007 Bone Diva:
Claudia Van Dyke

"Helping families come together and doing everything I can to stay active... Now that's a good day" - Claudia Van Dyke, Ashland, OR

Claudia walks everyday on the trails near her home and this year she helped her friend train to walk the San Francisco Marathon.

May 2007 Bone Diva: Anita Greenstein
"We keep each other up-to-date. Family support really matters when you're trying to stay healthy." - Anita Greenstein, Fort Pierce, FL

Anita found the key to her healthy lifestyle was embracing her love of the outdoors, with activities like water sports and walking barefoot on the beach.

August 2007 Bone Diva: Dana Happel
"Life doesn't have to get worse as you age. A good attitude goes a long way." - Dana Happel, Chambersburg, PA

The wonderful feeling Dana got from her yoga classes encouraged her to teach yoga to other women who are trying to keep their bones strong.
