"You get up in the morning and make a decision about how you are going to live your day," she says, and each morning she tries to start the day with a smile. She notes, "If you are smiling when you meet someone, there is a good chance they will start to smile too."Since Ina was diagnosed with osteoporosis, she began making a conscious effort to watch what she eats (including plenty of calcium rich foods).
Although she is not a gym-lover, being active has always been a part of Ina's life. Now more than ever, she is aware of the benefits of weight bearing exercise. "I love to garden, and it wasn't until I started reading Sally's journals that I realized it was a weight bearing exercise," she says.
Ina is passionate about helping others, and spends time each week visiting those who can not leave their homes and looking after the nursery at church. Ina knows that simple companionship and spending time with other people are so important. She says, "We all should be thinking of others as much as ourselves. Together we can make a difference."
