offered in the Pennsylvania area. Although she doesn't have a family history of osteoporosis, Lee had always been conscious of her bone health and was concerned about suffering a fracture, so she requested a heel bone density scan as part of the package. Following the screening, the nurse suggested that she speak to her doctor and get a DXA scan, a simple test that gave more complete results about her bone health. Based on those results, Lee was diagnosed with osteopenia.

Lee's doctor prescribed medication and recommended that she take calcium and vitamin D supplements. Three years later, a follow-up scan showed that her bone loss has reversed. Lee is also doing her part to educate others about osteoporosis - she even urged a friend to get screened after an accident that left her with a broken arm. She encourages all women to take care of their bones and to speak with their doctor to learn more.

Lee is a retired professional counselor who currently works part-time at a day care center. She spends her days singing and dancing with the children, and as an added bonus, her granddaughter also attends the day care center! When she's not chasing the kids, Lee loves traveling to Atlantic City with her husband and looks forward to her annual trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with her brother.
