involved in the Christian Motorcycle Ministry — an organization that works with women and children involved in motorcycle clubs in the United States, and also collects and donates dirt bikes to provide to local pastors in third-world countries.
When she was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 53, Kathie was angry. Her children were grown and she and her husband were ready to embark on a new chapter in their lives. With the strenuous work involved in their daily lives, Kathie felt she didn't have time to take care of her disease.

Kathie's doctor prescribed medication and recommended calcium and vitamin D supplements, but what has also helped Kathy is that many of the things she loves to do also keep her bones strong. She walks, rides a bike in the summer and cross country skis in the winter, does yard work and low-impact aerobics. She also loves exploring with her three grandchildren.
Next up in Kathie's busy schedule is a mission trip to Nicaragua, as the Christian Motorcycle Ministry will be working with women's and children's shelters to provide food and clothing.
