Women who are teachers, veterinarians, adoption counselors, family ministers, travel agents, and medical administrators have provided us with first-hand perspectives that have inspired us. From all across America, ranging from the Pacific Northwest islands to the shores of the Great Lakes, to the bustling boroughs of New York City, these women teach yoga, lift weights, walk marathons, backpack, and ride horses.
Not only have these women shared with us their personal battles with osteoporosis through exercise, they've also come up with creative ways for getting plenty of calcium into their diets. One rewards herself at the end of a long hike with an ice cream cone. Another makes a healthy bread pudding from ricotta cheese and cereal. |

And a third celebrates her Scandinavian heritage with a slice of Swedish farmer's cheese on her breakfast toast.
These are just a few examples of how women like you and I can do things as part of our daily lives to fight osteoporosis. If you're like me, it helps to know you are doing everything you can to keep your bones strong.
If you have a success story to tell, please Share Your Story with us.
Remember, there is strength in numbers and, with your help, the "Rally With Sally for Bone Health" campaign can keep going strong.
Until next time, be well,

Look for Sally's next journal entry in September, as well as other information on managing postmenopausal osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor about how to manage your bone health, including diet, exercise, and treatment options.
