Despite the busy schedules that lie ahead, I plan to stick to my New Year’s Resolutions and continue to exercise regularly and maintain a good level of calcium and vitamin D intake. Remember that more than 44 million Americans age 50 or older have or are at risk of developing osteoporosis, and that people who suffer bone loss have a higher risk of experiencing a bone fracture.
If you haven’t already, talk to your doctor about getting a BMD test, which will let you know the condition of your bones.
By now, you’ve noticed all of the new and exciting features on www.bonehealth.com, and I hope you have enjoyed looking at photos from my recent bone health events and taken the bone health quiz! If you have not taken the quiz yet, I strongly encourage you to do so.

Tell your friends about it too – they may not be aware of the facts about osteoporosis or their risk of developing the disease.
I have so enjoyed sharing my stories
with you over the past few years,
and I hope you will share your
stories too. For those of you with
a voice that has yet to be heard,
please share your story with me so that I can continue to learn from all
of you.
Stay strong.

Look for Sally's next journal entry, as well as other information on managing postmenopausal osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor about how to manage your bone health, including diet, exercise, and treatment options.
