I am also thankful to have had a chance to reach out to so many women in order to encourage them to learn more about osteoporosis, and take positive steps by joining me in the "Rally With Sally For Bone Health" program.
It's been extremely gratifying to also see so many women help spread the word about osteoporosis, which is a silent disease. This includes the women of Congress, to whom I spoke in May during National Osteoporosis Month, women who attended the 2007 U.S. Women's Open golf championship, and women like you, who read my monthly journal entries and have submitted your own personal stories so that others might be inspired. |

I've learned that many of you have already empowered a friend or loved one to take care of her bone health- by convincing her to get a bone mineral density (BMD) test, informing her about the importance of exercise and diet in bone health, and informing her about the risk factors of osteoporosis. It's nice to know that we have the power to educate the people around us, but there is so much more we can do! Let's continue to inspire other women during this Thanksgiving season by challenging a friend or loved one to take better care of her bones.
I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is filled with joy as you spend time with family and friends.
Until next month, be thankful and stay strong,

Look for Sally's next journal entry in
December, as well as other information on managing postmenopausal osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor about how to manage your bone health, including diet, exercise, and treatment options.
